The cure for bad readings
After fighting with my digital caliper set to get a consistent set of oal readings; I discovered this item. Using this anvil, my readings were very easy to repeat. Then I got smarter...I purchased another anvil and now i use both at the same time on my calipers. Not bad... but I expected better.
If not properly adjusted on the caliper it will throw the measuring off by as much as .004 of an inch. It works but takes a while to make sure it is correctly adjusted. Anyone who says differently does not care or is unaware of the slant or misalignment on the caliper. It works but in my opinion it is not worth anything above $7. It takes a while to make sure when you screw the nut it does not move the anvil out of place/position... making it go slant on the caliper.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

The blades on calipers are thin, and sometimes the cartridge becomes canted for an inaccurate measurement.
