Great tool for the money
This is a very handy bench block for 1911 and other guns as well. Not sure how well it will hold up being made of urethane , but for the money it doesn't have to last forever. It has a lot of 1911 specific functions for various tasks including slide mods, link-pin removal and replacement, and even holds the slide in place so you can stake in a new front sight on the early government type. Make your own out of wood blocks
This looks to be a one piece injection mold with rough edges. It might take a few beatings but I don't think it's going to survive more than a year. The first problem I can see is it's not going to stay in one place while working with it. Slides on the table like a hockey puck. Guess I need 3 hands. Very Handy Tool
I purchased the block to primarily work on 1911 pistols but I also use it for AR-15/AR-10's. I knew the primary design was for the 1911 but I thought it would work with AR rifles and it did. So the value of the block has increased in my opinion due to it's versatility. I would recommend this block to anyone needing it for 1911's and maybe find use with rifles as I have. Perfect for all handguns

Essential Tool for Amateur Gunsmith
Really helpful for working on a 1911, especially the Commander lightweight. The aluminium (Colt alloy) frame is easy to scratch, but the Wheeler block holds gently and surely while you complete tasks. It makes removing and installing small parts under spring pressure manageable, becoming the "third hand" needed for many operations. Good For Gunsmithing
I find this bench block handy for certain uses - most commonly for driving out pins. When I have a really stubborn pin, I still find blocks of wood work better because they provide a more solid resistance. I also use the block for holding parts in fixed positions while I work on them. For example, it can be used to hold the barrel of a rifle while you work on the receiver.
