Quality Product Good Price
This HP Color LaserJet Print Drum Cartridge was 60% of the cost of others and close to1/3 the price of one local and I would have had to wait just as long to buy one locally. Out of box new HP product cleared the dragging dark toner lines from the middle of our prints as soon as it was installed. Easy installation in the 2840.

Mixed bag of quality...
The kit is significantly less expensive than new HP products. I don't keep records of the number of copies but they run out quicker than they should, considering they call them 'high yield', I rarely use color printing yet I have had to change the cartridges in less than a year with roughly 100 color copies made. The color was good when used. The main problem I have is the drum. It was obviously recycled as the roller wasn't clean when unwrapped. There were spots and stripes of toner on it. Initially it left spots on the border of each page every couple of inches on both sides being printed. Since I had just loaded the drum, I was hoping that the problem went away. After a number of copies the left side marks are gradually disappearing so I think it will fix itself on both sides. Just beware this might happen.

This HP drum was just what I needed!
I'm sure there are fine non-OEM products out there, but when it comes to my LaserJet supplies, I like to stick to HP, just to be safe. They may cost more, but the quality is always good, the price per page is actually pretty low, and they tend to last a long time. I can't remember when I last replaced the drum, but with casual home use of printing something about once a day, I want to say it lasted at least a couple years. In terms of toner cartridges, I think lasted about 3 sets of toner cartridges. The only downside is that once the drum is "used up," that's it - no more printing! I always need to keep ahead of the game by making sure I have one in reserve. Fortunately, eBay makes it easy to maintain my stock at a reasonable price.
