Orange 20RT one of the best!
In it's class this is one of the top amps. Great features, 8" speaker, large speaker cabinet simulation with headphones, simple to use built in chromatic tuner, 2 channels toggle or footswitchable, decent reverb, aux. input for MP3 etc., analog signal path, and very attractive and solid build quality--no cheap look. Amp sounds great, reverb kinda weak
I wanted a solid state non digital amp. No modeling or changing my signal back and forth to digital bit streams. This amp performs excellent. Orange cites four gang stages to achieve "distortion" and it works very well. I use a little grit or dirt not full out saturated high gain and run headphone out to my mixer to record. Works excellent for this. And I'm liking the cooler transistor sound verse warm tubes. Again works good for me. Wah pedal sounds like STP or AIC. Only reason four stars instead of five is the reverb-its not that good. Marginally useable at best. I paid more for this over same amp without reverb. Not worth it. Better off getting some kind of pedal for reverb. Nobody does reverb like Fender with spring tanks on board. But the distortion on the Orange is exactly what I was looking for.
