Great small saw
Silky saws are already a legend. This one puts the legend in your pocket. I garden for a living, and Silky was recommended to me by a professional colleague and by a tree surgeon. I use mine for jobs like pruning trees and the thicker stems on roses; any job where using secateurs would be unnecessarily strenuous - and upwards from that. You could use a bigger loppers, but the precision you get with a pruning saw what you want. Loppers can leave an untidy finish, whereas the Silky is surgical, leaving a very clean finish. If you're serious about pruning, get one of these. Also a good backwoods saw for wilderness camping, kayak bivouacing and the like, as it's light.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Disappointing
Bought this after much research....Silky being the ONE TO BUY. Top quality materials but severely let down by poorly engineered fittings. First time I used it, the blade pivot and retaining screw assembly just kept on undoing thus making the blade loose. Kept having to tighten it up, but over tightening results in not being able to stow the blade or to open it. Simple design problem but left unsolved. As an engineer myself, I'll remedy the problem myself, but given the alleged advertised greatness together with the price, one would be better off spending a fraction of the price for a far more well thought out folding saw that is reliable! Very handy little saw!
I bought the Silky Pocket Boy saw to take with me for camping out and bushcraft because of its small, packable size. It’s a pull-saw, cuts extremely smoothly and takes little time to process firewood or cut poles to size. The blade is replaceable should it become blunted but will last a long time if looked after. I definitely recommend including one in your pack.
