  • Buy this setup. You won't be disappointed.

Excellent quality and a great value! has everything you need to turn your blah Remington 597 into a Ar-15 look alike. Comes with all the screws and a wrench to complete the conversion. Make sure to save all the stock screws as you will need a few of them for the install. I added a Nikon Pro scope. You will need an extension to make the scope taller. I also added a red dot and a 30 rd. magazine to finish it off. I used a Volquartsen extractor to get rid of the jamming issues of failed spent shell ejections. The setup a little pricey, but worth every dime.

  • Nice looking stock

I love that I changed out my stock on the 597 Remington. I made some changes to the rifle while I was at it. I added a volquartsen edge extractor and hammer. Zero FTF now. This rifle hit the range a couple times than my safe due to malfunctions. After researching Archangel I found out how to make this rifle a nice shooting rifle. I've added a Bushnell TRS -25 red dot. It's like a brand new animal and I love the look of the stock. I thought I'd have to bring it to a humanity to do all these mods and I youtube everything and it was super easy. Don't lose the Allen wrench as it's hard to get one long enough for one screw. It's like tying your shoes, once you get it done once you can do it in no time. I can strip and assemble the kit in under ten minutes. I highly recommend this product. Thanks Archangel for bringing my rifle back to good old fun shooting.

  • Archangel Conversion Stock for Remington Mod 597, .22 LR

I bought this item for my Son's Remington Model 597 .22 Long Rifle. Not only did it arrive a day early, but the conversion was so easy without any Gun-Smiting required!!. I simply remove the 2 take-down screws which held the barrel on the factory stock, drop the barrel in the Archangel stock. Once that was secured and followed the instructions to complete the process. It made the original .22 looks like an AR 22. I looks just like the Ruger 10/22!! A must buy and a great deal!! easy to assembly and looks amazing and totally bad ass!!. TRANSFORM YOUR 22 INTO AN AR LOOK AND FEEL AT A GREAT PRICE !!!! Call or text if you need before and after pics, I will be more that happy to share my great experience with you DeeJ @ 210 265 6486. Thanks

  • Boring to Cool

Awesome stock. Well made and easy to assemble. Does it improve accuracy? No ( well maybe as the barrel is now free floating). BUT it sure looks "cool". My Grandsons seldom wanted to shoot my Rem 597 with that boring grey stock. Now they all want to shoot the new "cool" looking rifle. As a side note skip the stupid looking bayonet holder and flash hider. It looks dumb!

  • plane jane to bell of the ball

This transformed my old 597 from something I never used to a gun I use all the time. The picatinni rails allow for an aray of optics and other options and the adjustable stock is solid with no rattles. Nice tight fit and only about twenty minutes to install. The fake flash guard and bayonet are cheesy and i didn't use them. My 597 didn't have a front sight so no place to screw in the flash guard and the bayonet is only good for display or maybe a letter opener. Great kit but would have been better without the useless flash guard and bayonet. It gets a lot of attention at the range. Over all a quality product.

  • Wicked looking Remington

I bought the 597 because I read that it was an accurate rifle. After installing a Volquartsen hammer and extractor it ran as smooth as could be. Then I saw an S&W M&P 15-22 and thought how cool is that. $449 dollar worth of cool. I like the AR styling so much I thought about trading my 597 for the M&P 15-22 but before I did I saw the Archangel AA597R stock kit for the Remington 597. I bought it and love it too. The kit went together super easy. There are plenty enough rails to hang scopes, sights, lights, grips or bi-pods. And I am at least $100 dollars ahead. Highly recommend!

  • Excellet product and value. They do need to figure out a way to include a mount for the front muzzle piece

In my particular case my Remington 597 didn't come with any iron sites. So when I went to attach the last piece over the mizzle of the barrel thee was no way to mount it initially since there was no hole or site to be able to use the screw as is done iwith the rest of the kit. So, I had to be creative and mounted some felt material/feet inside of the last piece and have it slid tightly over it for now. Otherwise, the difference is like night and day. It is a great kit for a great value. One thing you may run into as I have seen others on youtube that have had similar problems in using the 30 round bannana style clips...it may not go all the way into the reciever once you put on the kit. However, it is an EASY fix. All you have to do is to either use some sandpaper and sand off some of the sharpness of the edges of the clip or in my case I used a dremmel as was demonstrated in the videos online.

  • Tactical Replacement Stock for Remington 597

The fit for my model 597 was excellent. I did not have any negative issues with assembly. The only difficult step is getting the allen head cap screw through the pistol grip to secure the stock to the action. A hemostat or a magnetic allen wrench helps to fish it through the handle into the hole in the stock. I used a magnet, just a matter of having something to make the job easier. The bayonet is a little hokey and I was considering loping off the lugs on the flash arrestor, but I left them on. I added a set of flip up sights and a single point bungee sling and it turned into a very cool looking little .22 magnum rifle. Too bad all you can ever find for the .22 magnum are the stock 8 round magazines.

  • cool upgrade

Easy to install. Looks good. Seems tough. $100 shell and a $165 dollar 22 and you have an AR type platform in 22 caliber. Good deal. Most 22 ar's have too many FTF and extraction problems for my liking. It just isn't any fun. Now I have a reliable trainer I used to familiarize my wife and daughter to the platform and they fight over turns to use it... Only issue is front barrel shroud and sight base is a little hokey and not attractive. I used a 10/22 adapter and a2 birdcage to dress it up. The one that comes with it looks cheap and doesn't do the package justice.... Overall 👍👍
