I use it to feed sunflower kernels. It has a large capacity and is easy to use. Right now the birds are eating masses of seed and it is good to see them all. We have a pair of Great Spotted Woodpeckers, nuthatches, collared doves and lots of Blue, Great and Coal Tits. Design could be better
The actual quality of the materials used to make this bird feeder is good and strong, but the design is not that great. First thing I noticed was the thin metal perches. One was missing from the first feeder I ordered, so the seller had to replace it. The perches tend to spring up and don't stay down, making some of the seed ports inaccessible to the birds. Secondly, it's quite a large feeder so holds a lot of seed. This is generally a good thing because you need to refill it less often. But with this feeder, because of the way the lid fixes on, it's incredibly easy to drop it and all the seed is spilled everywhere. Very annoying as my greedy dogs immediately eat it. The lid with the hanging loop fixes under 3 small lugs on the top of the seed hopper. You have to place the lid perfectly accurately, then turn it until the lugs are clipped in. It's awkward to do and really annoying / wasteful when you get it wrong. The birds do quite like this feeder, but I wouldn't buy it again. I've had to move it off the feeder pole and hang it in the hawthorn hedge instead because the crows kept knocking it down when it was out in the open.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

The best bird feeder!
This feeder is great, with a twist top and bottom it is so easy to fill and even easier to clean, good sturdy metal. All feeders should be as easy to clean as this one, just wish some larger ones were readily available, I use mine for sunflower seeds but could do with a large seed feeder. I find these last about two years, the perspex is the weak point as it either splits or comes apart from the metal rings it is attached. Holds a nice amount!

Not squirrel proof
Feeder arrived and it was the model the squirrels had just destroyed! Found the triple locks on the top and bottom far too easy to unlock! Tightened the top lock by putting a slight twist on the splines Put the new unit on the triple feeder stand, On the first day the squirrels leaned across and undid the base! Best around in my opinion.
Ordered this to replace an identical one that finally gave up the ghost after around ten years of service. The old one had been out in the sun, wind, rain and snow and took all Mother Nature could throw at it whilst performing well. I think it finally succumbed to UV sunlight. The plastic becoming brittle but the metal plastic parts still okay, albeit a bit rusty! Seed spilt on ground
Not a good design the pigeons hang on to it then it comes apart and falls on the ground .Then all the seed is spilt everywhere .I have stopped using it after a week .As I am just loosing to much birds seed .I bought it for the easy cleaning properties but it has turned out to be a waste of money .Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Easy to Fill and Clean
