REMINGTON MONTE CARLO STOCK-1100
This is a authentic Remington product- and I fitted it to 40 year old 1100- 12ga field gun. I wanted a higher comb for trap shooting, to raise impact point of shot charge.
It (stock and fore-end-both of glass filled plastic) does the job well, and actually feels better than the original wood parts, with the fore end being a little slimmer than the original 1100 unit, which always seemed a little too fat.
It was a great buy, and fit perfectly. I did remove the original spacer plate between the stock and receiver as the molded stock has a slightly longer boss, and doesn't need the spacer. The only tricky part is removing the nut from the stock tube, which houses the recoil spring. The old ones have only a slot for a very large flat bit screwdriver, and can take quite a lot of torque to remove, especially after 40 years, and a little rust. Unless you are quite handy at improvising tools, you might want to have a gunsmith or experienced mechanic change the stock for you. I think that the newer 1100 and 11-87 use a hex headed nut which could be removed with a socket, but I have no idea when the change of nut design occurred.
