Quality Bird Feeder
I purchased this item due to problems with a squirrel repeatedly attacking my standard bird feeders. It arrived well packaged and in good time. It's sturdy, well built, and easy to fill and put out in the garden. The only thing I worry about is if the birds can actually fit through the metal grid as they seems quite small squares. Not so squirrelproof feeder
It took my squirrels 4 days to get jnto this product. During those 4 days it was quite amusing to watch their attempts - it was clearly driving them nuts! Once they had cracked it they have repeatedly removed it from the hook on a 3 metre wire from a tree branch. I think they have been assisted by badgers or foxes to open it once on the ground, and now it lasts only minutes! I am still trying to modify it to make it genuinely squirrel-proof , but don'y hold out much hope!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Fabulous Item
What a wonderful item at a great price. We wanted to encourage small birds into our garden. Having previously put out bread we saw lovely little birds enjoying the bread until horrible big black crows / blackbirds (not sure of the exact names for them) would swoop down and chase away the little birds. Saw this bird feeder and it's answered all our prayers. No more big birds getting to the food intended for the little birds. We saw a lovely array of small birds enjoying feeding time the other day without any big birds anywhere near them. Foiled again by this excellent feeder !
Having already purchased a squirrel proof 'Fat Ball' bird feeder, we found that the squirrels were now raiding the sunflower seeds in a conventional tubular wire mesh feeder. We were relieved to see that a 'Nut Feeder' version was also available. Our resident squirrels, had long since given up on the fat balls and tried their luck on the new Nut Feeder. Once again, we were amused at their attempts to get at the sunflower seeds. They only succeeded at shaking a few onto the ground which were quickly eaten by pigeons. Just like the Fat Ball Feeder, the Nut Feeder is of an identical quality with no signs of rust yet appearing and has the same locking lid. If it should be lifted off the hook and dropped on the ground, it still won't spring open and it's easy enough to tighten the locking catch if necessary. Our collection of small birds took to the feeder straight away too ! We can certainly recommend this feeder, as it is well made and definitely squirrel proof.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good bird seed feeder
Ok. The nut feeder is made of 100% steel not plastic which is good and what we wanted. The lid has a good clip and the unit is easy to fill. We put a tie wrap on the clip to the cage as the squirrels have in the past worked out how to prise the lids open. We watched the squirrels wrap themselves around the feeder but did not breech the lid, they did manage to throw it on the ground though so I placed a tie wrap on the hanger to prevent that.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Kingfisher Guard Guard Bird nut feeder
The product itself is of good quality. However when I filled it with quality wild bird seed from the local pet shop the seeds fell through the mesh which is to course. So it is now filled with peanuts and the original bird seed mixed with lard to thicken it up. Sadly the starlings can still access the seeds. Well made/perfect for trees
Was very surprised when I received this bird feeder, Its well made, finished nicely in every area of the item, the colour is very nice too. Quite large, which is good, as it won't need filling so often. It's currently hanging in a cherry tree, the birds have already found it. Suprised at thoughtless postage from a compamy like this.
+ Good size and ability to stop other animals getting to the food, and some further place to birds to hold on to. - What I did not like is the LARGE envelope only packaging! It had no packaging support round it to travel in the public. Fooled the squirrels at last
Well made and excellent for the price. All the small birds can get inside it to feed once they've worked it out that its not some sort of a trap, and it keeps large birds like Magpies etc out. I put another ring of wire around the bottom waist as I found young small squirrels could get their head in, so an extra row of wire did the trick.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
