  • Everything you'd want a modem/router to do and then some

LEDE is excellent software. The problem for me thus far has been to find hardware to match and this BT Home Hub is definitely it. The guys have done an amazing job. No soldering, no tinkering with TTL serial cables, just plug it in and configure away. If you're in the market for a LEDE device, I don't believe it gets any better than this. It's still not for everyone, but it gets the annoying stuff out of the way and allows you to busy yourself with the fun part. Having previous experience with LEDE, it took all of 5 minutes to get it running the basic functions and ~1 hour to migrate my configuration for remote access, minidlna media serving, OpenVPN, stuff you wouldn't believe the little box is capable of. Highly recommended

  • Excellent option to run an Open Router OS

I didn't want the hassle of installing Lede myself. This was a great deal, with a BT Business hub (better quality control than the basic version) with the latest release of Lede pre-installed. If you don't know, Lede is the replacement for the venerable DD-WRT router operating system that's been around for a few years. All the features of the router work as expected, but every possible parameter is accessible (unlike when it's running BT's firmware).

  • Upgrade to OpenWRT

I got this device with LEDE firmware. Modem driver is not supported by LEDE, but OpenWRT does support it. I could not get internet connection (ADSL2+ connection Annex A) until I upgraded this router to openWRT firmware image. Keep in mind after uploading OpenWRT firmware image from device's page on openwrt.com, you will lose gateway GUI. Do not panic or worry, just follow Luci (web GUI) installation steps on the same device's page I mentioned before. I thank him for opening the case and doing installation over serial. I would definitively buy from him again if the device is stable long enough.

  • ReliableBT Hub 5

I upgraded to from a hub 5 to a Hub6 which has all the same issues as the hub 3 where connections to apple products kept dropping. back to a useable hub 5, simple to setup, good wifi coverage. What a shame BT did not learn from its previous mistakes.
