Excellent value and works well
I needed a wired internet connection for a security camera system and also wanted to improve wireless strength in area furthest from router. This product was not only very good value, but it took 5 mins to install, using WPS feature with my Netgear router. It saved me a load of problems trying to run a cable to the area, has good wirelss speed and signal strength and has also been very reliable so far. Will not set up correctly - avoid
I'm fairly computer literate, but this has defeated me, avoid unless you enjoy spending hours wasting your time trying to set hardware up...The extender does set up sort of, but if you want to access the extender configuration you will probably have problems, this is supposed to be done through 'mywifiext' which is inbuilt in the extender, but it won't open. I tried more times than I care to remember, without success. I wanted this extender to be able to connect a device through the ethernet port, but it doesn't work. Maybe when when I've had a bad day at work I may try and set it up again, just to remind myself that however bad things may seem, they are not as bad as a Netgear Extender... Just do a search on google to see I am not alone and lots of people have similar trouble, maybe I'll start a support group up, so we can all meet one a year and talk about how rubbish Netgear is, you know, like AA or Gamblers Anon....Lifes too short to install a Netgear Extender, unless you are about 5, then you might get it done for your retirement....take my advice, buy another brand...Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Wired access point
Contrary to what the instructions say the version 3 of this booster can be used as a wired access point. If you do this you can obtain a better signal and transfer speed. Unfortunately accessing the unit itself via the method described in the instructions can be very unreliable. Download the latest installation instructions and look for hints online.
