    NICE DECK

This is a nice tape deck , plays and records well. Brand new and delivered ahead of time.

  • Most critical review

    I wanted a USB output.

Everything works but, some prerecorded cassettes don't fit in the slot well. The doors are warped and seen cheaply made. I think there should be a separate button to open the doors, or pressing on the top of the doors should open them. Other than that it woks well, it's quiet. I got this because it has a USB connection. I like my old Denon unit better. Marantz reputation seems better than the actual units.

  • Defective and poorly engineered

I was very disappointed with my Marantz PMD-300CP cassette deck because it has a very annoying humming sound that may be a motor running inside the unit even when the deck is powered off. The owner's manual says to unplug the unit when it is not to be used for a long time period. This sound is not only annoying but is also a power drain and may be a fire hazard. Lastly, when the ear mounts are not installed to secure the device, the play button is very hard to push and it requires one to hold the unit in place to keep it from being pushed back into my cabinet. I really expected Marantz (made in China) to do a better job of designing their product especially of not having the power to be completely turned off when activating the main power button.

  • basic unit

Disappointed it doesn't have playing choices like play both sides type thing. Doors don't open very easy as they seem very stiff.

  • Great Choice

I really haven't used it much since I got it due to health reasons, but I have played a few cassettes and they sounded as good as a CD And that's saying something for a Cassette player.

  • Marantz performance

Easy use, playback fidelity is very high, produced xlnt digital copies via USB. Automated track separation was not perfect, workable and saved editing time.

  • I love it!

I have over four hundred cassettes with samples and sounds that's hard to find and this unit is perfect for transferring them to digital back up.

  • Novice Digitizer

Have minimally played tapes very satisfied with thge result so far. Still in prelminary setup to digitize tapes. Looking forward to excellent results. Ask me about durabiity in 6 months or a year!

  • You don't get what you pay for

If you are still using cassette you know how much time money and energy is took to put the music on it love music. Marantz used to stand for high quality what happened I don't know desperate for a sale I guess.? This is why a lot of companies are the things of the past I will send this back soon as possible do not buy

  • Rack ears do not a pro model make.

Controls are flimsy and "muddy" feeling. Counter only works on the Dub-deck side. FF and RW are slow! You have to DL the application to transfer via USB, which is in mono only, and automatically converts to MPEG-3. I have only had for 3 weeks, so I don't know if is durable. This is NOT a "professional" unit.
