    Great & Useful Magazine!

With the price and scarcity of ammo these days, it makes more sense to have only a limited number of rounds for sighting in at the range or hunting. 20-30 rounds of ammo has weight and it can be awkward to wield around when lining up for the shot. How many bullets will be needed to hunt your source of meat? Also, the unbelievable prices of the larger capacity mags, if available, is almost a rip-off for something that will be used infrequently. Having a small number of these mags saves weight, loading time and the cost of ammo. These mags for the serious enthusiast are a win-win-win any way you look at it.

    10 Round Disappointment

The size and capacity of the magazine is just what I wanted. I hunt coyotes, and a 5-rd mag is not often enough, while the 20-rd mag is always too many and sticks down too far. The proportions of this mag are just right, in that it protrudes down from the rifle enough to grab hold of, making mag changes much easier. The down side is that it didn't fit well in the rifle and was hard to insert or extract. The stamped mag release protrusion on the back of the magazine does not work as well as those mags with a spot-welded plate on the back, and is prone to deforming in heavy use. Once inserted the function was pretty good, with only a few failures to feed. I will try tweaking the mag to get it to fit better. But at this price, I shouldn't have to do that.

  • Pro mag mini 30 mag.

Bought this for my ruger american ranch x39 bolt action. Loaded rounds just fine. Had to modify the mag catch lip on the back of the mag to get it to seat all the way. Trimmed about 1/8 of an inch off of the lip of the magazine and the mag seats perfectly. If youre buying this for a ruger american only file a little bit at a time until it seats. Havent shot with it yet but im sure it will do fine. Gave a 4 star just because of having to modify it. But still good quality product. I cannot speak for how it works in a mini 30 rifle.

  • ProMag Magazines just do not work well with the Ruger Mini 30.

ProMag Magazines are very problematic with my firearm, a Ruger Mini 30. The metal pro mag I bought from you is very tight to load and unload into the mag port. Hearing so much good things about them, I also bought several ProMag 20 Round Poly Mags and have nothing but problems with them. I damaged one so bad I do not think they will take as a return. Although problematic, I am keeping your ProMag only because I am unable to get any Ruger Factory Mini Mags anywhere. My firearm is a second hand gift and came without any mag. although tough to load, at least it will work with your mag.....Sorry, but it appears many Ruger Mini 30 owners are having the same issue with ProMag Magazines.

  • Ruger American Ranch 7.62x39

I got this for my American ranch chambered in 7.62x39 and this mag seems to work well in it, I’ve heard to doesn’t do too well in the mini 30 but functions fine in this bolt gun. It does have a little difficulty locking in place but polishing the retaining clip on the back seems to make it function a bit smoother but a good slap in to make sure always does the trick.

  • Mini-30 Magazines

They fit good, a little on the tight side when loaded with ten rounds. Cartridge bases start to get too big with a straight mag configuration. Perfect size for my scout rifle though! Thanks!

  • Well worth the money

Read several reviews about filing the front indention down to prevent it hanging up, have not had to do that yet as it does fit snug with no issues of it falling out or rattling. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star is I have not taken the weapon to the range yet to put it to the real test. Even if I do have to file it down, it still an exceptional value.

  • Quality

Recently got my mini 30 used and could not keep the 15 round mag that came with it. I live in a ten round state of confusion. Bought one Pro Mag and it worked as it should so I bought another. Have several other mags by Pro Mag and have learned to trust in their Quality

  • Ruger American Ranch 7.62x39

my Ruger American Ranch 7.62x39 loves these mags, not sure if they work well in a mini30 as most promag stuff is garbage but they work great in these bolt action rifles
