Wrong shape bottle
I think that the grease is well upto the job but for me it's in the wrong type of bottle, you don't get a vast amount and it's well down the bottle before you start, getting it out is a nightmare, I used an old credit card. If the bottle was more flat and wide, like a shoe polish tin you will be able to use more of it. Currently there is a lot wasted.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Does what it says on the container
I had used grease bands before but found the creepy crawlies were able to make their way under the band and still spoil some of the fruit, the grease is able to get in to grooves of the bark giving extremely good protection and has given us over twice as much edible fruit than in the past. a better band than tape

Fruit saver
I have purchased this tree treatment prior to the time of use so that I am ready and able to beet any infest of insects ect. I have used it before and with good results.Sadly I didn't catch the Victoria plums in time this year and had a lot of bugs inside them. sticky grease
Just applied the grease to a mature Bramley Apple tree so won't know how effective it is until Autumn 2020. Easy to apply but used most of one pot on one tree because the bark was so rough and the instructions say to ensure full coating. Worth it if it works.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Better than nothing!
I use it on a very old and large tree with rough bark, so it takes a lot of grease to form an effective barrier. The problem is worse in a year like this as the leaves have yet to fall, and when they do some are likely to adhere to the grease, at worst bridging the gap so allowing the moths to crawl past the barrier. Good - with reservations
Having ordered this exact brand product over the past 3-4 years, we find that it is effective - somewhat. What we are not happy with is that the small amount of grease in the plastic container. This means that the container is only filled to about half. Given the cost of the product, it should be filled all the way to the top of the container. Vitax fruit tree bands.
The product came quickly as described and well packed.
