    Great Sharpener

Great Sharpener, brings knives back to brand new quality , I used the ceramic end as mine were reasonably sharp anyway. Great Value and highly recommended. I bought two !

  • Most critical review

    Good sharp edges, so far.

Like a lot of such reviews, it's really much too early to know how good it is. I have a similar, much older sharpener and needed another one to use in our motorhome. This one looks to be the same principle with a few design/colour tweaks. A Chef might not like the way it puts an edge on a blade but if this one continues to sharpen blades and lasts as well as my original, then it will get more than the 3 star - 'It's OK' - I've given it. Ask me again in a year...........

  • Excellent, easy to use little sharpener.

This is a splendid little sharpener. The one I bought is blue and branded "Silverline", but it is identical to any number of others listed on ebay under different brand names and none, and a multitude of different colours. They all doubtless come off the same production line, in the same factory. The sharpener is used by pulling the blade of your knife in a straight, level and steady action through the central slot of the tool. At one end is a coarse pair of carbide rods, set at an angle across each other. As the blade is drawn across them, steel is shaved from the edge of the knife at the ideal angle, thus putting a sharp edge on the blade. After a few passes on the coarse carbide side, turn the sharpener round and repeat the procedure on the finer, ceramic rods. This will put a finer, super sharp edge on the blade. Ten passes through the coarse end, followed by another ten passes through the fine, ceramic end will make a blunt knife razor sharp again.

  • Spot on!

I carve alot, usually yew .. virtually every day, I tend to use moraknivs 120 and 106... I like to sharpen my blades every time I use them, especially if I'm carving small delicate items which require a super sharp blade. This little pocket rocket is absolutely spot on, sharpens the blade quickly and evenly (unlike some) and beats, hands down anything else I've tried in a similar vein... plus you really cant argue with the price point. It's totally portable and I'd buy again like a shot. Liz.

  • Does Exactly What I Wanted

A great blade sharpener. I purchased it to keep my gardening knife sharp and it does just that. No more having to struggle when trimming plants and shrubs. But be warned. Sharp blades can cut fingers. I found out the hard way!!! I would certainly recommended this product to anyone who gardens, camps or goes fishing. The sharpener is lightweight so easily fits in a pocket.

  • Knife sharpener

What is there to say it's a knife sharpener. It sharpens knifes well easy to hold tucks away out of the way into conveant place

  • Excellent little gadget

I have gone through all my blunt knives and a pair of scissors with this useful little gadget. It’s sharpened them really well so I’m very pleased. It doesn’t come with instructions, but another review told me what to do (10 with the coarse part, keeping the blade upright, followed by 10 with the ceramic part to smooth it off).

  • Great sharpener, works very well

Can't believe how good this knife sharpener is. Saw Ray Mears had rated it highly on his website and for a couple of quid was a bargain. Great for camping, takes up hardly any room in a backpack, would even fit in a pocket. Highly recomended.

  • Great sharpener

I bought this as a small gift for one of the pockets in my husband's advent calendar. At first he was lukewarm about it as he has lots of penknives and various sharpeners. Then he noticed that one end was ceramic and he was very pleased and said he would be using it.

  • Worked like a charm

I was doubtful of serrated knifes getting sharpened... But it worked so cool n my 5 year old devil knife is reborn again. Sharp as a blade should be... Very good quality sharpener. Price is awesome. I would definitely recommend it.
