Should work okay out of the box (which is rather poor quality) without special setting up however does depend on the timber section size used. I had to make a spacer for my router base plate as I did not want to machine the panels so deeply and the cutter is larger than the hole in the plate. I did have 20mm thick timber for the panels, thicker timber would have been better for the cutter however I still have a heavy door. I also did not use the groove part of the cutters as I wanted a thicker, stronger "tongue and groove" joint, so I did the groove separately, therefore the cutters for the frame were less useful and I could have done the same job with more std. cutters that you typically get in a router bit set.
Just the job for cutting shiplap cladding, though watch out for the 9000 RPM maximum speed which may be slower than your router's minimum speed. I wouldn't use this freehand, only on a table with guide fence.
