Better than my oven dial
I chose this one because of temp range and large size numbers. Since the display is set back a bit, it casts a shadow and is still a little hard to read. I'll assume it's fairly accurate but I have no way to test that. My oven dial is way off. I'm still not sure
Have two similar versions (different numbers) of this Taylor product. So far, even with two in the oven, I can't be certain if their temperature or the preset oven's is correct. It seems to vary with each usage. Will keep baking, etc., to see which is right. Bought this to verify oven temp, but as noted, things are still undecided. Excellent Product ! ! !
I had trouble reading other oven thermometers as they were to small to see. This oven thermometers is accurate. And there is no need to open the oven door to check the temperature. It's very stable inside the oven. The other's I've had are not only hard to see but are hard to place. As when you move something in the oven they usually fall over. This thermometer works great & seems quite accurate. it's a little slow to respond to changing temperature, but that may be just a part of being a classic non-digital type gauge capable of withstanding 600 degrees. Oven Temperature Knobs are Generally Wrong!
We have 3 of these. Ovens rarely have accurate temperature settings; once you use this thermometer you can calibrate the knob on your oven by removing it and adjusting the notched calibrator under the knob, The thermometer always left in our grill is the same color as the grill (I clean the glass with steel wool), but it works fine. Nice big dial makes for easy reading
The dial is large, so reading the temp. is easy. Not sure how accurate it is since the oven temp knob, my old smaller oven thermometer and this new one all show different oven temps even after 20 minutes. Which one is right??? No idea. Gas grill temp
I bought this thermometer to measure the temperature inside my Weber gas grill - I didn't trust the one mounted on the lid. I'm doing ribs and other meats that are slowly cooked at ~300F. I like that this thermometer can be placed on a top grill or hung from the inside of the lid.
