Good Trap
A well made trap. Sometimes it can be a little bit fiddly to get the catch in place to set it and you need to be a bit creative to get the bait to stay in position, but once set it seems very efficient. Rats aren't stupid!
I thought I'd try an humane trap to get rid of a large rat that has moved into our house. Well the rat won! Quite simply they are intelligent and simply refuse to go in to get their food. I left it baited with peanut butter (crunchy) and not set for a full week (you need a cable tie to stop the trap going off, there is no clip) and the rat completely ignored it. The first night I set the trap for real I caught - a hedgehog! The hedgehog found it very homely and refused to leave until the morning. The next night it came back for more! GONE AND FORGOTTEN
When the trap arrived, I was afraid it was too small, but gave it a go anyway. The first attempt found the bait taken, but nothing trapped. My doubts were looking realistic. However, at the second go, we found that our squirrel friend had jailed himself, and we were able to remove it from our garden to a safe distance. Just one thing. I think it cut itself trying to bite through the wire as blood was found on the mesh, so be sure to watch for the trap being tripped so the prisoner can be let free as soon as possible.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Back to the drawing board
The lock down system is very poor. The idea that a small lip balanced on a steel pin which is held just by the end of another pin is totally ridiculous. The previous trap I bought had a strong sensible mechanism and I thought I was purchasing the same model. I would go back to the drawing board on this one. It was so sensitive that on three occasions it trapped small birds which was the last thing I wanted it to do. No squirrels.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Brilliant cage!
Brilliant cage. Ready assembled. Wiped over with a damp cloth and rubbed it over with a fat ball to remove any human sent. Caught squirrel after 2 days with peanut trail from edge of door to the trigger plate. Looked at a few before buying this as alot had bad reviews. Rats ar'nt stupid - find an alternative
I'll start by saying that this trap is good value, well made out of strong materials, functions well (after some experimentation and use of common sense) and works...ONCE! I caught one rat in it after only an hour of setting it. I watched as it mustered the courage to enter it. Unfortunately i wasn't able to release the rat immediately (well away from home in woodland 2 miles away) and consequently it will have relayed its distress to other rats. MISTAKE. Even after power washing it and wearing gloves there haven't been any further captures (1 week later and the bait is still there). Good design but don't expect it to catch tiny rodents..
