A hatful of impressiveness
Bought as a prop for a pirate festival so I wasn't expecting much. But this hat turned out to be better than I thought. I'm not sure what it's made from but has a clever "distressed leather" look and feels quite sturdy. The shape is held by 3 press studs which gives several other appearance options. For what i paid i can’t complain,it certainly is hard wearing(and i also mean that literally) as it is very stiff and does not “give” when placed on the head.Now whether it would soften in time i don’t know. Pirate hat for fancy dress
The product does look exactly as it is in the picture which is like old, distressed leather (I am not sure what the hat is actually made of). It is important to say that the hat 'crown' only fits one way - otherwise the hat sits oddly on the head. If it does fit your head, it looks great. On the down-side, there is zero flexibility in the material so it will either fit you (yes for my partner) or it won't (no for me). There is no stretch/give at all. It is quite rigid. So, it will be important to ensure the head size before purchase. I am not sure how robust this will in damp conditions if it is worn outside.
