Replacing shredder blades
Do not anticipate being able to un screw the old screws. Mine were well and truly bonded in. Drilling the old ones out was relatively easy, because the screws are made of low strength steel and drilled easily. The new blades made a phenomenal difference to the performance of the machine, but I was a little disappointed that the true edge didn't last long. That said the slightly dull edge still performs admirably well. I am vowed to regularly change over the blades, because I now know how effortless the machine can work. PS I'm sure a slightly dull blade can be re-sharpened with a grinding disc - haven't tried yet...Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Long lasting sharpness. This is extended by selecting material that is not of too great a diameter, and has not been hanging around too long making it very hard. fits B&D GA1800E shredder
I bought these ALKO blades for my old B&D GA1800E shredder, as B&D no longer provide support. The blades are near identical in overall size and shape, but the whole centres are a couple of mill different although the hole diameters and set screws provided are identical. So used a rotary tool to slightly elongate the mounting holes and now they fit perfectly. Provided a new lease of life to my 'obsolete' B&D shredder. Used these type of authentic blades for some years. The drawback is that the steel they are made from is a bit soft, therefore they dull quite quickly. Using something like high speed steel would be better but there is the risk they could shatter if bits of stone etcetera were accidentally dropped in with the material being shredded.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Replacement stock items
I have an AL-KO shredder that takes this size of blade. I have had it for many years and it has been very good. The blades are good and can be made to last a long time by careful re-grinding, but have to be replaced in the end.
