Fender 25 db boost aka Clapton kit.
A great way to add a little power to a stratocaster (or strat style) guitar, if you can't afford to buy the signature or custom shop models. No stranger to this modification as I have been doing it for about 20 years. To my ears the 25 db boost kit gives a better tone with either Lace Sensor pickups (the best) Seymour Duncan classic strat pickups (next best) or Fender Noiseless pickups (last on the list). When doing this modification, "be patient" take your time and don't rush it. My only complaint is that the kit doesn't come with a volume and 2nd tone knob plus mounting screws and s tuds for circuit board. Route for the pc board first and mount that into the body, then route for the battery installation in the back. Once completed a world of difference in tone. great kit but guitar needs some bodywork removed
Genuine Fender modification, works just as it should, but my strat needed some router work in order to fit the circuit board, with some conductive shielding paint to coat the new cut out. That said...it is all underneath the pick guard so cannot be seen. Battery fits well into the tremelo pocket on back of strat. .My guitar has noiseless Seymour Duncan pick-ups..... Well-assembled circuit.
All parts were included. Potentiometers are all high-quality. Resistor and capacitor are proper. The graphics for the installation instructions could be better. Color coding would be an improvement. Step by step instructions would be best. P.C. board is sturdy and wiring is soldered with proper solder. This one was for a customer's guitar. May buy one for one of mine. Good Bang for the buck.
