    KitchenAid 6 Quart Bowl-Loft Stand Mixer RKP25M1X

this KitchenAid is working well for large quantities. somewhat circumstantial with removing the bowl and putting it back on the stand and using this up and down handle. I bought it for making bread dough and I'm pleased so far with the outcome of the bread. for smaller recipes I still like to use the regular size stand mixer. if this buy is a good value for money spent I will find out when time has passed. my first KitchenAid I had in use for 25 years without any problems.

Don't build them like they used to....

Waited a month, finally arrived. Said it could mix 6 loaves worth of bread dough, tried it with 4 loaves - it emitted a strong electrical burning smell (had to open kit window) and just quit after 5 minutes. (Hook was correctly inserted, dough is standard artesian bread dough) Had to hand -knead the dough. Either the motor isn't strong enough, or there's something wrong. Tried twice to call KitAid - waited on hold for 30 min each time, then gave up. KitchenAid used to be a well respected brand. Not so much any more, I guess.

  • I love this machine!

I got this kitchenaid 600 to take over the jobs that were too much for my classic model. I've been making all of our bread for several months and my little classic was struggling with the stiff dough. It also couldn't contain the dough for two loaves with its smaller bowl. That little workhorse has served me well for over 10 years, but she just can't handle the bigger tasks. So I purchased the 600 and it's made a huge difference. This machine kneads the dough much more thoroughly and efficiently. Breads that were good before are fantastic now! She powers through the kneading process without straining and the dough stays in the bowl instead of climbing the hook and making a mess. I was a little concerned about the noise factor as some of the reviews I read had complained about that, but I don't find it to be excessively loud. It's a stand mixer so it's going to make some noise after all. While I still love my little classic, I love her new big sister too! The spiral dough hook is a much more efficient design for kneading. It also comes with the standard paddle and whisk attachments which also work as expected. The 6 quart capacity and larger motor mean this mixer is equipped to handle the bigger batches of whatever I throw at it. Cookie dough, mashed potatoes, meatball mix, cake batter and, of course, bread dough have all come out great. I'm so glad I made this purchase!

  • Works well, easy to use. Noisy when kneading bread & pizza dough.

Two weeks in and we love our Kitchen-Aid Pro 600 Series 6qt Stand Mixer. (If anything changes, we will come back and update or post a new review.) We purchased this mixer to use for mixing/kneading bread & pizza dough during the Covid19 quarantine and it works like a charm. The only negative is how noisy the machine becomes when it's under a load (kneading dough) the noise (gears whining+electric motor) would have been concerning if we had not researched and understood this would be the case. Consumer Reports warned of the noisiness and indicated that the 5qt Stand Mixer is a quieter option. We only make bread/pizza dough a few times each week limiting the amount of time the machine runs and are able to tolerate the noise, which we considered an acceptable trade off for the additional capacity. The mixer makes considerably less noise when mixing less dense products such as cake batter. Another reason we selected the larger mixer is, it has a higher output electric motor that should better tolerate the amount of load stress the mixer is under while kneading dough which gives the motor a considerable workout.

  • It looks like a KitchenAid.

The mixer came in a white "refurbished" box with Kitchen Aid on the outside. It looks and runs like the "non-refurbished" one that we currently have. Hopefully, what ever was wrong with it has been fixed and our cousins will have years of enjoyment using their Kitchen Aid.

  • Highly Recommended

The mixer arrived with a damaged whisk but I am working with the seller to rectify that situation. Otherwise, it's easy to use, holds more than the mixer it replaced, and it matches my new kitchen. I have done almost non-stop baking since it arrived with no problems, except the aforementioned whisk. I highly recommend it.

  • Kitchenaid pro 600 mixer

I purchased a refurbished unit to replace an old mixer.(K5SS) I really like the larger capacity, and the slower start up is handy for avoiding flour clouds. The motor is a little louder than my old one, but not ridiculous. It handles 4 loaves of bread dough without an issue. It does seem to take a little longer to whip egg whites and cream, but again, not a lot longer. Of course it is heavy, about 30 pounds, so moving it around is a hassle. All in all, very happy so far. We will see if it holds up like my 40 year old one.

  • great product

It doesn't start immediately when turned on. Not sure if that is how it is suppose to work. Once starts it does just fine. When using stiff dough, I thought it would do better. I have had a Kitchen Aide before and was hoping this one would be more powerful than it is. That just may be my perception. I will keep it and use it often. It works great except for very stiff dough.

  • A mixer worth the wait!

I decided to begin baking artisan breads. Most of these breads involve very stiff dough that is difficult for mixers to handle. I had been using my mother's Kitchenaid from the late 1970s and although it is a beast, it was struggling to not overheat. I have been watching the KitchenAid Pro 60s for a few months and when a new one came available at a great sale price I pounced on it. Because these mixers last years (we're talking 42 years on the last one we bought and it is still working), I was hoping to get a color that would not totally date itself. My mom's KitchenAid is harvest gold---need I say more? I would have loved sky blue or pink, which would have been campy and fun, but was not willing to pay an extra $200 for a fun color. I went with red because to my knowledge red has never been totally "in" or "out" of style. It arrived quickly and as I unpacked it, I noticed that although it has a much more substantial motor than my old KitchenAid, it isn't much heavier. Because it fixed and not hinged, it is easier to carry without fear of dropping it if the top isn't locked in place. As my daughter observed, "That thing can mix cement!!" It is powerful and amazing! It takes a little patience to lock the mixing bowl into place, as the snap on the neck of the mixer isn't real easy to lock into. It is taking a little getting use to having the bowl that raises and lowers instead of having the mixer itself on a hinge - but seems like a good idea. It is powerful and I anticipate is lasting as long as my mom's. I hope my grandchildren (yet to be born) will be happy with a shiny red KitchenAid mixer in 40 years. They are built to last.

  • Beautiful, works great, easy to use.

Came in a new box, very neat. If you didn't know it was refurbished, you'd think it was new. Looks beautiful too, a nice bright red. Works great; so glad I got it. I've had one of the tilt-head models years ago and have to say the Pro 600 is far better. One of the selling points is that it can handle tougher doughs and--bonus--I can make FOURTEEN batches of cookies at once...should I ever have the need to, LOL. My reason for wanting the Pro 600 is for the real Italian biscotti I like to make for Christmas gifts. The stuff is hard enough to break your teeth and very difficult to stir once you dump in the nuts, so I needed a mixer that could handle that for me. Also, the Pro 600 has 67 (?) points of contact, versus 52 (?) on the tilt-head models (so better mixing). Definitely worth the price.
