    Good for the price

    I had some complex light cabling behind a plaster board ceiling that I was trying to trace the route of the cable from the dist unit. I found that the signal was being picked up by all cables in the area including unconnected ones so I had to listen very carefully and work out which signals were louder and softer. There wasn't a big differentiation but I did achieve it - and positively confirmed by a loud sound when the receiver probe came into contact with the bare cable end. So more fiddly than a professional model but £300+ cheaper.

    Nice piece of kit and invaluable in unlabelled lan cabinets

    Solidly built and nice that the connector leads stay in it (rather than scattered in my tool case). Otherwise it works as I'd expect and helps me in particular to sort out lan cables that are not labelled

    Very useful tool

    I bought this tool to trace wires in a cnc press brake that had water damage during delivery. It proved very useful. The only down side was when tracing wires in a shielded cable the trace sound can be quite faint and hard to hear if there is a lot of back ground noise.
