Better than pins or any other track screw
I bought these to fix Hornby track onto a baseboard made of 12 mm ply. They are just right for that. The screws self-tap into the ply and are strong enough to take quite a bit of torque on a screwdriver. I have bought other, longer screws but found that it's easy to twist off the heads.
