Penn Plax Bird Bath
I purchased this product after my old bird bath just plain wore out. I was looking for a new bath but found few products available. The Penn Plax looked to be the best available at a reasonable price. It is quite universal and easily fit my bird's cage. The hooks are adjustable either upward or downward to fit most cages. The bath is roomy enough for both my parakeets and they adapted to the new bath after a couple of days. The bottom half of the bath is a solid color (in my case brown) which is said to alleviate the bird's fear of entering an open floor space. Maybe and maybe not, but it does not detract much from viewing the bird's bathing. I am not too happy with the two piece construction which I believe may lead to some spills if you are not careful. This isn't what I got ...
I got a brownish colored bird bath in the box, and the front had long plastic "tabs" that are supposed to slide down over the cage side, I guess (in the open door area) ... but they do not FIT over the wire of the cage. It would be REALLY helpful to see the front of the bath in the ad, so people could see if it would work for their cage. I honestly do not understand WHAT cage this would work for .... I haven't gotten to use it at all. Am very sad by this purchase.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Poor design
The penn plex bird bath itself may be ok, but the attachment system is poorly designed. The plastic clips that come with it to hold the top in place so not function well. When you put the little hook part over the cage wire, the weight of the bird bath, even without water, pulls the clips off the plastic bath cover, allowing the unit to tip back. It tips back far enough that even my littlw quaker, as stout as they are, can easily get out at the top. This bird bath may be usable if I glue the clips to the clear plastic cage top, but then it wont fit back in the box for storage between uses. Its a great idea, but needs more work. Also, it is small enough that evan a quaker is a bit cramped, would be better for smaller birds like finches, budgies and canaries.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
