Nominal capacity: 100Ah (10h rate) / 108Ah (20h rate). A gel battery is a type of Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) battery filled with special gel-type electrolyte. They have much longer service life compared to standard wet-cell batteries due to lower degradation and corrosion inside the battery.
After having this battery now for 2-3 weeks I feel I can leave a review.
I am comparing this battery to a “12v 100ah Platinum Vrla Agm Ultra Deep Cycle Super Heavy Duty Leisure” This was my previous battery I used for off grid living.
I live off grid on a 12v system, I use on average around 1 amp per hour during the day and in the evening, around 3 amps per hour for around 4-5 hours. I also have a 100w Truma solar panel kit for a beautiful long sunny days we have in the UK.. NOT
As said above, the usage I use these batteries for is plentiful.
To review this as best I can, I can (as said) only use my previous battery as a benchmark.
After 2-3 weeks ive noticed this battery is nowhere as good as the AGM battery, I also use a very expensive 4 stage charger (Yes I have changed the charging profile from PB to GEL) I don't let my batteries go below 12.3 volts but after maybe around the 8th charge i've already noticed a small amount of power loss in the battery.
I'm not saying this is a bad battery, but my personal view now is a wish I bought the AGM battery at a lower cost.
Sadly on a grey day, even with the low output of amps i use a day ( to my calculation I use 34 amps MAX in a day) this battery won't last the day. For this reason I can only give 2 stars.
