Good product, and excellent sized pack.

Ideal sized tub for repairs and infilling 'cracks' in fire back where heat damaged over time. Have previously bought from local stockists but tubs too big, and once opened this type of product can go off in a relatively short period of time, even with lid correctly fitted so end up with lot wasted. Found this size through ebay and there is plenty for my needs, I used trowl to infill larger gaps, and also an old screwdriver to 'push and pack' in before smoothing off. This cement easily 'worked', soft, pliable and has done a good job. Would recommend this product, and as stated if your requirements are for smallish quantity then this tub size is perfect.

  • Most critical review

I was unlucky with my tub of cement.

My tub that arrived was not Purimachos as advertised but is British and maybe from the same factory? It arrived with the lid off, in spite of the security ring still being intact. So it was dried out and needed quite a lot of water and a lot of stirring and then was still lumpy. Without extra water there was no adhesion and it just fell off as soon as you applied it. In the end it did complete the job and went rock hard. So my tub was quite expensive for the trouble it gave. I could not send it back because the job was urgent. Next time I will buy from my local shop.

  • Fire place heat resistant mortar.

Used this to repair hearth where red hot ash pan is removed when de-ashing the fire. Carried out repair around a month ago and mortar remains intact and holding up well to intense heat which it is subjected to. Very easy to apply and smooth after drying.

  • Hot Stuff This.

Easy to use either with tools or fingers and adheres to surfaces well so long as they are prepared first by wetting well. The price is very competitive and delivery is reasonably quick..

  • Excellent value for money.

It has done what I expected it to do. Some products say that they are what we need but are not.
