  • A nice knife

To start with I will say this knife is made in china. But the quality and looks of this knife are very good IMHO. It came out of the box fairly sharp and the fit and finish is also good. I have always liked the bone and stag handled knives from Marbles. For the price I think it is a good value and it comes with a pretty nice zip up case.

  • An affordable, good quality, imported Case Cheetah

Nice little knife. Yes, it's made in China, and the blade isn't high carbon steel. All that notwithstanding, the Marbles MR109 is an affordable, practical, utilitarian folding guard lockback knife. It came with a sharp edge and a nice zippered, soft, leather-like, storage case with the orange "Marbles" logo. Of course, the scales aren't actual jigged, burned, stag bone but are acrylic epoxy with the classic Marbles torpedo inlaid in the scales. It's essentially a locking blade pocket knife made for light to medium cutting chores; not a do-all survival/throwing knife. No, I have no expectations of using this knife to fight off a Ninja attack (screw the knife; I'll be reaching for my .357 snubbie), fend off an enraged T-Rex, jam this knife into a rock crevasse on the face of El Capitan to prevent me from plunging 1,800 feet to a certain death, or save my life after surviving a plane crash in the snow-covered Yukon. I live in the real world with real world expectations. The fit and finish is good and everything works as it should. This knife was made to be used; not sit in its factory box with papers and original wrapping. I've had this knife now for nearly 3 years and it has served me very well with no problems. The blade holds a decent edge and it doesn't take much to keep the edge sharp. The blade is long enough to meet much of my normal cutting needs and the polished hardware, pins, guard, and bolsters don't rust or patina. The guard prevents my fingers from riding up the generous handle when it's covered in blood or fish slime and the locking blade won't snap closed on my fingers. The guard edges were a little sharp when I got it, so I lightly rounded the points with a jeweler's file so they wouldn't poke me or snag. Believe me; when I pull this knife out of my belt scabbard or pocket for camp cutting chores or to dress and clean small game, no one's going to see the faint "China" etching on the blade and demand I surrender my man card. I liked the knife so well, I purchased a second one. For the price of a Case Cheetah, I can buy at least 4 of the Marbles MR109s. Marble's MR365 Barlow and their Camillus clone GI utility knives are also affordable, handy, darn good little pocket knives you might be interested in looking at. I would absolutely love to see Marbles manufacturing move back to the states. In the meantime, Marbles still has good brand-name recognition and still makes darn good, high quality, innovative stuff that's practical and affordable. I've never had a bad Marbles product through the years - either made in Gladstone, MI or China - that's disappointed or failed me yet. Hey Marbles: bring back your safety hatchet!

  • Awesome knife

I have been seeing this knife for some time now. I have a couple of swing guard knives, and this one had caught my attention some time ago. I decided to go ahead and get it. Well, I could kick myself for waiting. This knife is by far well worth the money. Actually, it is just as good as some that are priced 2-3 times as much easily. And the kicker is, I can and will use it whenever I need to......without worry.

  • Might as well get one, you wont regret it.

Rock solid, well-made and finished, arrived super sharp, just as good as my Case Cheetah, a reviewer said the handles were plastic but I did the needle test and theyre bone.

  • Fine knives from Marbles.

I was looking for a knife with a swing guard and this one caught my eye. The knife was somewhat inexpensive compared to others from Marbles, so I bought it. Well, turns out, it is a great addition to my collection. Fine quality and looks fantastic on display.

  • Marbles folding guard knife

Fantastic knife, great quality for the price! Why drop a c-note for a Case Cheetah that too expensive to actually use in the field. I would reccomend this knife to anyone who is an outdoorsman.

  • great value at a low cost

solid/ well built / a little bit of heft to it I've always wanted a swing guard folder, but the Case Cheeta is too expensive. For less than the cost of one Cheeta, I got 2 Marbles swing guard knives.
