  • Corgi Aviation AA49201 1/72 Scale Messerschmitt Bf 109E JG-3 Udet

Corgi Aviation issued their model AA49201 in 1/72 Scale as part of their 'Battle of Britain 1940-2000' range. This model is a spectacular rendition of a Messerschmitt Bf 109E which served at the time with Luftwaffe JG-3 and was flown by the German ace Udet. These models - there are four I believe - have been long out of production now and fetch £25.00 to £30.00 for a decent boxed one. But do not be put off in any way by the more 'budgety' looking packaging of these: All four come with all the attributes of a Corgi Aviation model from this time which were market leaders. They are diecast metal and ready assembled with optional landing gear and a stand provided. The 'Battle of Britain 1940-2000' Range consisted of two Supermarine Spitfire MkIIa / one Hawker Hurricane MkI / one Messerschmitt Bf 109E models representative of aircraft which fought in this decisive moment of WW2 (September 1940.) All are 1/72 scale diecasts and come with the standard of detailing which would normally be associated with traditional Corgi Aviation and Aviation Archive models. 10/10 from me for sure ... Grab these special editions whilst you can.
