A classic kit!
This kit has been produced since the 1970's and I think the molds are getting pretty worn. Parts fit reasonably well and the detail is pretty good. Some parts have very nice detail and others, not very realistic like the stage two engines.. I bought this instead of the Lego because it is a lot less expensive and you get an idea of the machinery and construction of the real rocket. With the lego, you just have a lot of pricey plastic with little idea of how the real thing was put together or worked. I think the Airfix Saturn V is a better kit, I discovered that after I had ordered this one. All in all I am satisfied with the Revell.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

model is ok for a static model of the Saturn V IF you don`t take it apart for display, as the second stage motors bear no resemblance to any rocket motors at all and completely devoid of any detail whatsoever, the third stage is not much better either no detail at all, sorry Revell completely un exceptable, had to resort to after market resin parts to correct the deficiency, come on Revell pull your fingers out and correct these deficiencies, otherwise forget the Revell model and buy the airfix kit instead as it is a lot better not perfect but better than the Revell offeringVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

A must have Revell Classic for fans of The Space Race.
As a child of the Sixties, all things to do with The Space Race, NASA, CCCP, Cosmonauts, Saturn V, Mercury etc. were essential learning. So I am delighted that I have finally got my hands on this Revell Classic Kit. I have no idea where I will display the finished model as it stands some 3' Tall. Nostalgia in miniature.
As a youngster I well remember the Apollo 11 moonshot. Now as an elderly adult I can take a trip down memory lane and create in miniature that scene. As a special edition the product replicates in great detail the mighty Saturn V space rocket used on the first moonshot. The product is well packaged and illustrated with the scene of the launch. It is individually packaged internally with well detailed parts that are contained in polybags. Precise easy to read instructions and a decal sheet to replicate Apollo 11. The kit does not include paints or cement which is the norm however that being said it gives open scope to put your interpretation on to the completed model either as a pristine newly built example or a stained and weathered example which has undergone the rigors of a launch. Once built the model can be separated and displayed showing the different stages of the Rocket its engines and internal partitions. It can be super detailed for those that like to add realism and detail though to be fair it is already well detailed. Not one for a beginner but certainly one to consider for builders with some experience. The kit is of the spaceship only which has its own individual display base.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

This is a very detailed model of the saturn 5 rocket, You'll need to help a child build it, but what better way to have quality parent / child time?
