Corgi Aviation Archive 'Battle of Britain' sub-range model number 49101 is an amazingly wonderful and fully detailed 1/72 Scale Hawker Hurricane Mk I in the colours of 85 Squadron RAF in September 1940. Do not get taken in by the more 'budgety' looking packaging as per many of the other Corgi Aviation sub-ranges. This model is up to main range standards in terms of detailing and is provided with undercarriage up / down components and a stand. The Hawker Hurricane Mk I itself is P3854 (VY-Q) which was flown by Squadron Leader Peter Townsend (85 Squadron RAF) in September 1940. Corgi's Hawker Hurricane models like their Supermarine Spitfires have always been market leading in terms of quality and rather a legacy as a result of this ever since the first one's release during the last decade. The 'Battle of Britain' sub-range itself consisted of only four 1/72 scale models (two Spitfire Mk Is and a Messerschmitt Bf 109E in addition to this one) which all match each other in terms of high standards despite their deceivingly 'budgety' looking packaging. 10 / 10? Wish 11 was awardable ... A must have!Read full review

A well made Corgi 1/72nd model with the undercarriage as the most vulnerable part - best to display retracted if children are likely to pick it up.
