Ideal for hard surfaces and easy on the back.
This is a great piece of kit. Does away with the weed killer sprays, does'nt mark the paving, and is easier on your back. It is lightweight and definately works, if I have any critisism it would be the press button ignitor, you have to get the gas pressure just right to ignite the flame but that is only a matter of getting used to the item. sound device but a couple of problems
The device is well-built and easy to use but the piezoelectric igniter produces a very small spark insufficient to ignite the gas so a separate igniter had to be used. I bought the device to remove weeds from between the bricks of a block-paved drive. It kills the weeds effectively and quickly - in a couple of days they had all gone crisp. However, the remains still have to be pulled out by hand so not much is gained as the weeds could have been pulled out anyway.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Weed Wand + 8 Butane gas canisters
I purchased the weed wand and 8 butane gas canisters as my father has one and he recommended i get one. Also having 3 cats i don't want to use weed killers as they are harmful to pets, if they come in contact with them. The only issue with the weed burner is that it does smell like a bonfire when you are using it directly on the weeds, so wear some old clothes as they will definitely smell afterwards. It is very easy to put the canisters on but make sure you put the gas onto high when starting as I found it didn't light if it is too low, also there is a little red button on the wand which you have to use to ignite the flame (this was not noted in the instructions). Obviously don't let children use it as they could very easily burn themselves, so keep the wand out of reach. Gentle exercise, calm mind and charred weeds
I enjoy torching my weeds & I don't want chemicals in my yard around family & pets. The wand kills immediate weeds and creates a nice charred carbon base for the next ones to grow in a day later. The igniter- as stated in many reviews does not work after the first time you use it. Much more fun to use a match tho'. Great for lighting outdoor fires & I'd guess - old fashioned BBQ's. Works well but awkward control
This works well but control for gas release turn knob not button so I personally found it awkward to control gas flow. But then again did job with weeds. Would not use inside to light coal fire though due to size and controls. Good value for money and saves back when weeding patio and paths. Great value for money
Easy to attach gas canister and easy to use. It does exactly what it says on the tin! It is very satisfying to see the weeds shrivel and die as you use it. I use it to kill the weeds that pop up in my block paved driveway. One canister seems to last for ages. Delivery was very prompt and it was packaged well. No risk to dogs.
I wanted a weed killer which would be safe to use and not affect my dogs. This weed wand is just the job. It is easy to set up, light to carry (and easy to light). It also came with 8 cans of butane which will last a while. My neighbour already wants to borrow it. I suggested he buy his own but I'll let him have a go. Really competitive price .
