Good hacksaw, does not do well with wood.
I think I may have been expecting too much of this product. I was hoping it would be something I could take camping to help process firewood. It frankly has a really hard time getting through wood quickly, even with a dedicated wood cutting carbide tipped blade. Even with the nail embedded wood carbide blade (less aggressive, but still designed for wood) it's slow. It does a lot of catching in the wood and just shaking the wood back and forth instead of cutting it. Turns out a silky folding saw is faster, lighter, only takes moderately more physical effort, and is just more pleasant to use. So I would not recommend this for camping or pruning. That all being said, it makes a pretty good hacksaw substitute when used with a metal cutting blade. I prefer it to using the hacksaw (faster less effort, less blade binding) or angle grinder (safer in a bunch of different ways and less setup). It's not gonna do it as fast or for as large a piece of metal as a corded or 18v full sized model, but it does a lot better in metal than in wood and is a lot easier to control with the smaller teeth. It's also a high quality and well built tool. I think I was just expecting it to do something it wasn't well suited for.

What a fantastic little sawzall.!. First you have to understand that it's a small portable unit, you simply cannot expect it to complete with a full size unit. This is an awesome portable 12 volt saw. I love it's portability and it does have enough power to get the job done. You just cannot beat it.!. I have really enjoyed the entire Bosch 12 volt line-up of small portable tools.!. They are great products.!.

Just the right size and one tough little item!
I have been borrowing my husband's Bosch reciprocating saw off and on for years now. Decided to get my own instead of waiting for him to get home to be able to do my little projects. This tool is small enough for my "girly" hands, yet tough enough to make it on a construction site with a bunch of rough men using it. It is getting harder to find this little gem along with it's battery and charger, but is the most amazing tool on the market in my opinion.

Handy Bosch 12v saw
This, like all my other 12v tools, is very handy and effective. The Bosch tools, including this one, have unexpectedly excellent power. I bought the saw for cutting out steel electrical wall boxes and for cutting pipe and conduit. The blade is shorter than a saber saw and it is easily used one-handed. This allows me to cut inside a wall without damaging the other side. It uses the same jigsaw blades that fit the very high quality Bosch jigsaw. It is light and can often replace the larger saber saws. It is very light and comes in a nice zipper tool bag, rather than the flat bags. I paid a price online that was about the same as found in the stores.
