This is a review of both the Royal Red and the Royal Blue 12x10 albums. I purchased one of each. The only obvious difference is the colour of the cover boards. This is the kind of album most suited for a large collection of photographs of varying sizes. It is traditional in the sense that you must use photo corners or double-sided adhesive tabs to attach the photographs. If your photographs are all the same size you might prefer an album with slot-in pockets. Good points are that the albums are mostly of good construction with plenty of pages that are interleaved by thin semi-transparent "glassine" sheets. In this respect the album is of a traditional design, but not quite. Where the albums fail is that the pages are thick paper rather than the thin card one normally finds. In time I expect the cover boards to separate from the pages through repetitive handling because they have been joined with thick paper rather than something more durable. To remedy these failings I would suggest fewer pages using thicker paper throughout the album. As a matter of personal preference I think the album is rather too " square" and would be better if it were the same height but about 2 inches narrower. These albums require deep bookshelves! Exactly what I needed - I wanted an album in which to put old family photos of varying stupid sizes! I wanted one which sort of reflected the old vintage type albums but I wanted a new one. This is perfect but you need to also order your photo corners for art and I am using some I got from USA which are sticky back ones rather than corners.

Excellent quality with nice frosted paper dividers.

The album looks nice, however the pages are very thin, almost like regular paper.
