I thought the criticism of only 4 voices was overblown, but I pretty much immediately understood how limiting it is. You can make great noises on this thing, and you can use the 4 voices to great effect, and I really enjoy playing with the oscillators and filters. But some more voices would take this up to a 5 for me. It may not be as full as an actual Jupiter 8, but for the money, I love the sound. I run it through some reverb/delay/whatever other pedals anyway, so I can get the sound to feel full. I recommend it, BUT just know that you're limited because of the 4 voices. Better than the Volca, though, which only has 3 voices. Also, side note: the batteries don't last any time in this beast. It's fun to play with on the couch while you lounge, but I can only get a couple hours of use out of it without plugging it in.Read full review

This is exactly what you need if you want to have (just about) all the sounds of the legendary Roland Jupiter-8 but space is tight, as it is in my apartment. The MIDI interface is seamless, there's plenty of online support, the ability to use it as an audio device within Windows rather than an external program or similar is incredibly helpful, and if you have a MIDI controller or the K-25M keyboard unit, it's great for just noodling around with. Like all great analogs (or modeled analogs), this thing will continue to reward experimentation. Start with a well-known patch and then twist some knobs! Make it sound however you want it!

If you do your homework first, then you will enjoy its sound, size and portability and not complain about the sliders and connectivity. I connect keystep to phone charger and use them at work, on a bench and everywhere...also in bed... it is fun and buying ultimate patches packs makes life even better

Great little synth that does the Jupiter 8 some justice. A few things to note though, only four voices per unit (though you can combine multiple units for more) and the knobs are quite small. But the sound is there.

Great little unit, is very nice to have the keyboard. I actually have it sitting on my desk just to work out things and to play with. Only drawback is, the internal speaker is not loud enough to use with anything else, even an acoustic guitar and someone singing. But a fun unit overall.
