It IS worse than useless
I can't add pictures here but not enough light comes out of the ring so the picture is almost completely dark. You get a much better picture without it. I'm quite shocked as to just how useless it is! Added 13 months later. I've had to keep this ring-light-guide on the camera because I obviously lost the original ring and, a while ago, it started falling off all the time - and then one of its 'legs' snapped off. Rubbish and not in keeping with a 'Tough' camera at all. I wonder if this is why the TG-5 has a lock on the ring fitting.

Worse than useless.
This item is disgusting. It is worse than useless because it creates macro photos with more light inaccuracies, such as glare & shadow, than the normal flash or no flash. Don't waste your money on this piece of stupid design.
