I used to have a CF adapter with an SD card in my Nikon D800 because it was cheaper and easier to use (e.g. only one card type which plugged straight into my computer), but a real CF card does make file transfer much quicker, so now I use a CF card as primary for RAW files and SD as secondary for JPG backups. CF cards are also supposed to be more reliable, although that's not why I changed because I can't think of a time when I lost pictures on an SD card. But of course that doesn't mean it couldn't happen one day...

It has proved reliable in a range of weather conditions and when used in a 'pro-level' DSLR camera allows for good burst speeds with little buffering between bursts enabling me to capture fast action reliably. It is not the highest capacity nor fastest CF card, but I prefer to use several smaller capicity cards then one or two larger ones son in case of disc failure (it can happen!) I only loose some shots not all. It also makes this card very cost effective for it's performance.
