Hard hitting and accurate
The Nitro Venom Dusk by Crosman has plenty of power. The .22 easily takes down squirrels and rabbits. At 50 yards I can get groups less than 2" shooting off hand. This may not sound great to some but when you are shooting squirrels in the woods without a bench rest I think it is very good.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Amendment
I'd like to amend my previous three star review of the Nitro Venom to five stars. After putting 500-600 rounds through it, the accuracy has become phenomenal. It will easily put ten shots into less than an inch at 50 yards. That's more than I had hoped for! The Nitro Venom reviews seem equally divided into three camps: those who loved the rifle straight out of the box, those who were disappointed at first but then their rifles improved after the "break in" period, and those who were thoroughly disgusted with its performance and either returned the gun or sold it. Naturally, I was hoping to receive a good specimen. But I didn't, so I fell into the middle camp. Albeit, the accuracy seems improved somewhat now that I've put about three hundred rounds through it but it still can only manage about one inch groups a ten meters.These groups would be acceptable at 50 meters, but at 10 meters they are atrocious. I've been shooting most of my life and shooting competitively (I.H.M.S.A.) since the early 80's so I understand the fundamentals of precision shooting - even with break-barrel air rifles which I realize are a different breed of animal. I fear that I've received a "lemon" with no inherent accuracy and little likelihood of improvement. But we'll see. It just may redeem itself yetVerified purchase: YesCondition: New
