Pretty good overall, and excellent value
Product is a little bit finicky. It does have an indoor mode, which presumably filters interference and perhaps amplifies detection. But it kind of thinks that it can't detect, even in the midst of a storm as it's counting lightning strikes. So the display sometimes flashes between please relocate cannot detect, and strikes detected. Other observation is that because it is counting cloud-to-cloud strikes as well as cloud-to-ground, the count does get pretty high even with a storm that is not super close nor super intense. Strike count maxes out at 199. So you have to turn it off and back on to start counting again.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Time to go if you hear thunder
No matter where you go indoors or whether it is set on the indoor or outdoor setting it gives frequent alarms saying it can’t find a signal, please relocate. I’ve run out of places to relocate! Acurite lightning detector does not work
While standing next to a window in a very intense lightning storm, it never went off. Did not work at all, no matter inside or out if a very intense lightning storm.
