Upgraded my Hollowtech II (originally 3x9) to 2x10. Shifting is smooth and trouble free even with KMC chain. With a bit of simple fiddling thanks to Google this chain ring fits the Hollowtech II cranks perfectly and shifts with the 9 speed front shifter. The process of adapting the chainring was to use the chain ring bolts to clamp the old chain ring to the FCM780 (back to back) as a guide and use a burr or stone in the electric drill to relieve the black plastic around the fixing holes to a depth of 1.5mm so the FCM780 fits over the ridge on the crank. The FCM780 comes with aluminium nuts, so don't over torque them (5-10Nm, I used 8Nm)
High quaility and works great. Considering that I typically only use the middle chain ring I decided only to replace the middle one vs. all three. High quality without the the addition cost of more rings.
