Good plane after massive tuning
This plane is good, after a very nice tuning. The blade was not 90 degrees, so I had to change that with sand paper and then realign it. The tool comes really crude from the box, it requires the sole to be sanded as well as the sides. The blade unfortunately looks very cheap, and I don't know how long it will stay sharpen. Mouth open and close is quite decent for a block plane this cheap. The thing I didn't like was the chrome parts (I also read that one should not file it, because then it will start to rust). The size is quite good, practical to use and set up, the weight is very nice in your hand. The knobs are quite good actually. In overall it's a good addition for a hobbyist or DIYer.

Nice plane for smaller jobs
Nice plane for smaller jobs. Sturdy cast body, convenient adjustment screws. I sharpened the blade just a little bit with a stone, it made a good difference. It would be helpful if the plane had assembly instructions, because when I took it apart I put it together incorrectly a couple of times. Overall, a good tool for those who actually do DIY jobs, not collect brands.

Look at the price!
This is not the best quality plane in the world. I am sure that the steel of which the blade is made is not super fine alloy steel. But it is quite acceptable and if you are only a "doing a bit of DIY" it is fine. For the average person who is not a professional chippy this plane will do great. You can easily pay well over a hundred pounds for a bloke plane, which is OK but why spend so much when you can get this one for twelve quid? An absolute bargain!

No.2 Block Plane
Plane almost an exact copy of the Stanley version but at a dirt cheap price. Requires some work to tune, flatten bottom surface, sharpen blade etc but once this has been done plane works well.

Once you've mastered how to set this little beast up it's very handy for all manner of DIY jobs. If you're serious about face side and face edge you need more suitable planes , but for jobbing it's perfect. Delivered as promised and great value. Mine gets used almost daily.

It is a tool that cannot be used immediately without making serious corrections.
