Does not match the description in terms of giving a close shave
Slightly disappointing in that it does not match the description in terms of giving a close shave, for me anyway. My previous shave had a dispensing Nivea function which was literately very cool. I am going to try to emulate the feature with rub on cream to make the experience smoother. Electric shavers are not the equal of wet shaving - sad but still true.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good every day shaver
I have long been a fan of Philips shavers but this is my first with the moveable head, and will be my last. I do not get such a good shave with this shaver unless I spend a long time going over and over my face.I probably spend twice as long with this shaver if I am going out in the evening. I am retired so do not need a good shave everday. If I was working and needed a descent shave in the morning, I would find this very disappointing. For a general every day shave it is ok and if you are willing to spend the time it will give you a reasonable shave. Is it worth it?....Well....
I managed to buy this shaver at an half price offer which was a real bargain but is it worth double...well at the end of the day its worth what the shops want to charge! I use to use an expensive Braun 5000 series shaver which was excellent but after many years of daily use its started to fall apart on me (R.I.P). When I first used this one it was a great cut and I have to say I was seriously impressed. I like the fact that it can be run under the tap to wash the hairs out to, plus that the replacement heads are around the £30 mark every two years which is nothing to worry about. Although it is very light weight it does seem to have good power when shaving and ploughs through stubble with no mercy. As the idiot guide says if you shave in an circular motion it cuts all the stubble lovely. The functions display symbols on the handle are very clear to see and self explaining. Although I currently have only used it for a week I haven't found any faults with it so far! Good for routine use
I use this shaver when I don't want to go to the bother of a wet shave. I use Kielhl's 'Smooth Glider' shave lotion to reduce drag because it doesn't require water. To get a reasonably close shave, I have to go over the skin a number of times. The result is pretty good, but not as close as I get with a wet shave.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Reason is the item was actually faulty.

great for sensitive skin
Had a philips before battery died after 4 years so tried a Panasonic ES-RF31 but just upset skin and makes my hair ingrowing which is looks really bad . So got another philips and skin is fine again gives good clean shave and no ingrowing hairs which is great so if you have sensitive skin this is a safe bet as i can't wet shave Electric only so doctor says the Philips is the best for my skin so far will get another one when this diesVerified purchase: YesCondition: New
