    NOT WORTH THE HASSLE TO PRINT YOUR OWN CHECKS

    I purchased this so I could save money ordering checks for my business from my printer or the bank. You have to buy magnetic ink for this and not all printers are supported so beware, you may have to buy another printer if yours does not accept the ink. I happened to have an HP laser printer that compatible so I took an empty cartridge and ordered the laser ink on eBay and went through the tedious task of cleaning the cartridge, wasting sheets of all black printing to make sure there was no more regular powder before filling it with magnetic powder. If you buy their branded ink, it is not worth it to even go through all this as the ink is expensive. I downloaded the Presto X1 software from VersaCheck and it was a little tricky but I called tech support and they advised me what my issues were. I made the mistake of adding their validation security for my checks and cost me another $19.95. I could not seem to print checks without it nor could I cancel it. Their tech support is either by email or pay for it. I managed to print out the checks and they actually work. The paper is super thin and they print is not as dark as the checks I got from my printer.Maybe it is because of the ink I purchased. My final conclusion is that it is easier to purchased the checks through the bank or your Printing Company and pay the extra. I wound up saving about $25 but not worth the hassle. Next time, I will call my printer
