This is the second starter motor with this part number.The first only lasted a week and broke due to the plastic(tuffnel) pinion teeth being torn away. The original part on the machine aged over 30 years had metal pinion teeth. I had to buy the same part,as there was nothing else available. This will fit most if not all Briggs & Stratton engines with the plastic/ nylon starter cog. My old cog has completely lost all the teeth and this replacement was absolutely perfect and I received the part the very next day even though I ordered it the afternoon before.
