Sturdy design, flawless function - what's not to like?
Have a CMMG M4 in 22LR and was looking for a quality red-dot/reflex type sight to sit on it, but didn't want to pay top whack to sit on a rimfire. Watched a few reviews on YT about this scope and took the plunge. "Wow" I was not expecting this quality at this price point. You get a lot for your money. I own Kahles, Leica, Swarovski and Schmidt scopes so have an informed view. Optics - the 3x mag is perfect, the standard (black) or illuminated (green and red with 5x brightness settings) .223 graded post sight show up clearly - particularly like the green. Housing - is solid metal, tough and stylish. The adjustment turrets work flawlessly 1/4 MOA at 50m and the wire-link that holds the unscrewed turrets a neat touch - no losing these! There are two picatinny rails on the sight, perfect for mounting torch, laser or a reflex sight (have a Leupold DeltaPoint but took it off as the Spitfire is so good). Zero - the sight held zero after 500 rounds. Adjustable mount - the mount has a picatinny base, a middle riser and the sight bracket. The middle riser can be removed. I did this and lowered the sight, for .22LR this is perfect and creates nice lines for the CMMG. Battery - the battery is included and works well. Easy to replace, large turret to access. Focus - easily focused at the exit pupil lens. Lens caps - comes with a neat set of flip up lens caps. Summary - am genuinely impressed with this scope. For the money you're getting a great deal of quality. Really suits the CMMG M4 and any other AR platforms. I don't ever expect to replace this scope. The combination is just fantastic - very happy.

Perfect AR platform scope
Bought the Vortex Spitfire 3x scope after researching many others. If you want a low power magnifying scope with all the advantages of a red dot then I would recommend this. Fitted on a Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 the 3x magnification is perfect targets out to 100m and great in low light. It can be used with both eyes open for rapid target acquisition and the red and green reticle options are useful, the scope can also be used with the illumination off. Although specifically set up for the .223/5.56 round, the reticle subtentions can be adapted for .22LR and work well at hunting ranges with a bit of practice. Optical quality is excellent and the scope looks and feels like it will stand up to a good deal of abuse. The only minor niggles are that there is no ‘off’ position between illumination levels so the dial has to be wound back to zero to switch the reticle off and also some shooters may find the eye relief very slightly short - fine for me however. Hard to find a better scope in the class .
Very well made quick acquisition scope. Recticle illumination very good in all light conditions , both red and green. Everything one would expect from a top manufacturer like Vortex. There is a lifetime warranty but not sure whether it applies here as well as in the States. 3X magnification , flip up lens covers , tethered adjustment caps. Excellent scope, although relatively expensive I would consider it good value for money. Other reviews remarked on the very fine etched reticle however with the ability to illuminate and adjust the focus the delicate reticle was clearly visible.
