The D-PRE discrete Class-A microphone preamplifier was created for this purpose. As a result, the sound is based on a smooth texture with bounce and luster in the mid and low frequencies, and a fat, natural openness and air can be felt.
Bought this as I needed a small mixer for live performances involving violin player, iPad, and laptop. The pre-amps are very very good, I am surprised to say, they made a normally bad instrument output sound much much better. Worht it for that feature alone. The whole mixer is well built and well-designed, tosave space on two extra knobs for panning, they simply ahve a little button that converts 2 x mono channels to stereo.
