Good product but not quite what I hoped for
I have used Alcotec Vodka Star Turbo Yeast three times and it does what you would expect, converting 5 kg of sugar into a ca. 10% alcohol wash in about one week. I have some reservation about it in that the resultant wash has a bitter flavour and on destillation this is carried over into the destillate. This may be because to date I have not clarified the wash before destillation. There is turbidity - presumably yeast residue - in suspension at one week of age; left for twice that period the wash drops much brighter. I tried removing the unpleasant flavours with activated charcoal and it was oartially successful. Further destillation will increase the abv and reduce undesirable flavours. If you use a wine or champagne yeast, you obtain a wash without add-on flavours, but it takes longer to ferment out. Experimentation is called for.

Fast acting full fermentation within a week
Brilliant yeast, very fast acting. full fermentation in a week. I personally devide into 5 equal portions, one for each demijon. Gives me approx 1 litre alcahol after distilation. Epic stuff

Tastes as it should.
Ran this as recommended. 6 days in it was distilled and made approx 2.5lts at 75%abv took hearts a bit early but didnt affect it to much. Almost no methanol. Cheers !!

Very effective and efficient
This yeast made 22 litres of wash with 6 kilos of sugar in 3 - 4 days maximum. Very impressive, I would definitely use it again.

It's ok.
Just an FYI - I don't distill. It is cleaner than the carbon turbo, but it's not better. The flavour is almost the same, but this yeast produces a lot more CO2 and the alcohol percentage is much lower.
