Good product but not quite what I hoped for
I have used Alcotec Vodka Star Turbo Yeast three times and it does what you would expect, converting 5 kg of sugar into a ca. 10% alcohol wash in about one week. I have some reservation about it in that the resultant wash has a bitter flavour and on destillation this is carried over into the destillate. This may be because to date I have not clarified the wash before destillation. There is turbidity - presumably yeast residue - in suspension at one week of age; left for twice that period the wash drops much brighter. I tried removing the unpleasant flavours with activated charcoal and it was oartially successful. Further destillation will increase the abv and reduce undesirable flavours. If you use a wine or champagne yeast, you obtain a wash without add-on flavours, but it takes longer to ferment out. Experimentation is called for.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
