A Tidy Tidier
Really very effective! A sensible configuration for keeping itself tidy in the van with adequate space to coil up both the power lead (top quality) and the suction hose (good length). Comes with no fittings except the Festool power tool adapter so you'll need to invest in various heads (crevice tool, carpet/upholstery head, etc.) for use as a vacuum cleaner. I swapped the hose end adapter for a VAX piece and then all those (cheap) heads are easily available and it can still be fitted to all our power tools for it's primary use as a dust extractor. It really excels at that, switching on quickly when the power tool is engaged and off again just a short interval after the tool. Suction is very good and it's quiet too - hard to tell if it has switched on some of the time! For the next version, please Festool, can we have a setting which enables the tool power socket without auto-switching the vac on? Would be very useful.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great extractor
In the past I've always gone for cheap and cheerfull shop vacs but having seen a more expensive unit on a site I was working on, I decided it was time pay a bit more attention to dust handling. After a great deal of research I went for the midi ctl. It's design makes it a joy to pack in the van and I have now switched over to makpac cases which will store on top the ctl. The anti static hose stops it getting covered in dust and the extraction is amazing. I can fit it to my Makita tools using a push fit 32mm waste connection. The bags hold a lot of waste and the suction doesn't seem to diminish untill the bag is packed solid. My last vac was a wickes wet and dry under £50, but in my opinion the Festool is well worth the considerable extra even just for the healthier working environment. It quickly packs into a cube and if you pickup the tool set in a size 1 systainer you have a very comprehensive bit of kit in a nicely packed unit.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good little extractor - bag fills quickly

Best Dust Extractor
Been using various Hoover's, bag and bagless. Wet and dry Hoover's for years on my woodworking tools. You name I've tried it. Most did an ok job of keeping the dust down but this dust extractor is hands down the best I've used by a mile. Minimal dust on my chopsaw, Powerplane, router, tracksaw arc. Should've made the investment years ago. It is a little expensive but well worth it as it has cut the clean-up time at the end of a job massively.
