After the first 7 days of PM use only: Does what it claims for cooling purposes. Looks good. Reasonably quit. Easy setup. The cost to operate has not been determined? What's a good night's sleep worth? Fits our needs and situation presently.

Not impressed
I'm very disappointed with this product. It is much louder than the one I was replacing, which happened to be a much cheaper brand. The air flow is designed to push the air towards the ceiling leaving the air around you hot and uncomfortable. The drain for the unit holds less than a quart, is too close to the floor to drain without making a mess, and should be redesigned. The old unit held about a gallon and was very easy to dump. As far as the energy usage, I'm not sure. I haven't received my electric bill yet. It seemed to have to run constantly to cool the room less successfully than my old A/C unit. Overall, as you can tell, I probably won't buy another LG air conditioner.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great but...
For the size of the unit the air conditioning it provides for a common room is plenty. Its great for it's value and it is worthy of 4 stars. The reason for me given it 3 stars is due to the fact that the remote control isn't very good at communicating with the a.c. unit. The range is poor and you literally have to be directly in front of it for the remote to give the unit action.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

I bought a LG 12,000 BTU AC , it was for a small room upstairs that got very hot , in the summer , this unit worked well & was worth the money charged . Overall a VERY Powerful A/C that will cool your room down at a small price
This is a very ROCK SOLID A/C. This needs to be plugged directly into the wall and NOT through any secondary means such as a surge protector or extension cord. It is a powerful unit. Only knock is that the fan will never turn off even after the temp setting is reached in the room. This does not cause any issues of course, other than continued noise. The noise level is average to high. It certainly isn't deafening, but it will be noticeable in a smaller room. I will gladly trade some noise for comfort in 92 degree weather. In 92 average heat with extremely high humidity ( I reside in the south ) this unit keeps my office cooled to 69 degrees at all times. It's cool!
I have this in my bedroom, which is about 200 square feet. It really cools the room down in a hurry. It works very well. However, it is a little rattly and somewhat loud, but not terrible.
