Pond vac assistant
This collector does what it’s supposed to. It doesn’t feel that strong when being put together but it manages to hold a full basket of water which must weigh a good few kilos. When using with a normal pond vac, because the hose comes in above the height of the vac it will not allow the vac to empty unless you lift it up. The basket clogs with weed easily and fills with water meaning it has limited time to use it. And then it takes several hours to drain. That said we have a large pond (27000 litres) and it’s helping return the filtered water back to the pond. We have also clear3d a large amount of debris from the pond. Well made but not a perfect concept
This basket is exactly what you expect it to be from the pictures. Sturdy and well made, although it takes quite a while to put it together and is not cheap. It's the operation of it that I find less than ideal. For simple considerations of gravity, you need to locate it above the level of the water, but below the output of your pond vacuum. This means that you have to locate the vacuum in an elevated position, which is not always easy to arrange.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Perfect for the job in hand...
The Hozelock pond vac works well, I got the package the included the collection bag. It sucks up leaves & debris silently, The only thing that I would suggest:- is that the mesh strainer on the collection bag could be made using a finer mesh, as the water returning to the pond is quite cloudy. (a lot of suspended dirt in the water) I used a muslin strainer with the collection bag & it collected a lot more of the suspended dirt, leaving the water going back into the pond a lot cleaner. A bit missing.
